Boats, Poker and Parties: 2007 Boat Week on the Emerald Coast (August 2007)

The entire community is gearing up for 2007 Boat Week on the Emerald Coast Aug. 13-19 at the Fort Walton Landing with pre-party celebrations starting on Friday, Aug. 10.

2007 Boat Week on the Emerald Coast is a weeklong celebration of boating and activities for the entire family. Whether you are in the mood for a great day of golf on Friday or a delightful day with the kids on Saturday, Boat Week on the Emerald Coast is for you. Complete with an exciting ski show on Monday that will be great fun for the entire family.

This year's event kicks off with a day especially for the kids. The fun starts at the Fort Walton Landing with:

  • Boat building
  • Face painting
  • Coloring contests
  • Rides for the kids
  • Food
  • Fun

The rest of the week continues with activities designed for participation and the enjoyment of our local community and all of our area visitors. The highlight of the week is the Emerald Coast Poker Run.

The schedule for this year includes:

Friday, Aug. 10 – Helen Back Golf Tournament
Saturday, Aug. 11 – Kick-off Party/boat building
Monday, Aug. 13 – Boat Week Ski Show
Tuesday, Aug. 14 – Texas Hold'em Tournament
Wednesday, Aug. 15 – Ladies Night at Helen Back
Thursday, Aug. 16 – Miss Boat Week at Fudpucker's
Friday, Aug. 17 – Captains Party at The Swamp
Saturday, Aug. 18 – Emerald Coast Poker Run
Sunday, Aug. 19 – World's Largest Boat Party on Crab Island

The Beaches of South Walton Tourist Development Council (TDC) is announcing the “Remove it or Lose it” campaign to help the Sheriffs Department and Code Enforcement enforce the Walton County Ordinance 2003-07g. The “Remove it or Lose it” campaign will assist in educating the public on the ordinance to ensure a smooth transition for beachgoers. Enforcement of the ordinance will go into effect on July 23, 2007.
