DESTIN, Fla. (September 20, 2007) – The fall season at Beaches of South Walton undoubtedly offers a unique getaway with cultural events, beautiful sunsets and the tranquil natural beauty of the area. What better way to remember these timeless moments than with an autumn-themed watercolor print available exclusively from Silver Sands Factory Stores. October is Autumn Tides Month at Silver Sands, featuring another highly-anticipated watercolor print by renowned local artist Donna Burgess. Shoppers presenting same-day receipts totaling $300 to Shopper Services will receive a complimentary, limited-edition Donna Burgess print.
“This is our sixth year working with Donna on the official Autumn Tides print and each year, it becomes more popular. Last year, we distributed over 3,000 prints during the month of October,” said Traci Stokes, Marketing Director for Silver Sands. “Our shoppers look forward to collecting these commemorative prints each year to give as gifts or to display in their beach houses or homes to remind them of this beautiful time of year in our area.”
This year’s print, “Sailing into Autumn”, is the third in Donna’s recent series of artwork depicting the unforgettable fall scenes unique to Beaches of South Walton. To continue the reoccurring theme of beachside windows opening to an autumn scene, Donna Burgess created “Sailing into Autumn” exhibiting the beautiful Beaches of South Walton through classic Florida window shutters. The coral-colored sunset reflects on the exquisite emerald waters and truly illustrates what makes South Walton’s beaches so unique. The treasures on the window ledge showcase the Florida lifestyle of laid-back ease while the sailboat looks ready to set sail on another adventure that only the Emerald Coast can offer. “Sailing into Autumn” is available exclusively at Silver Sands during the entire month of October in celebration of Autumn Tides Month.
“Fall is the time to relax as the weather cools and the light autumn breeze returns. It’s a perfect time to sail, walk the beach or just relax with a great sunset view and a good book,” stated Donna Burgess.
Silver Sands’ Autumn Tides Month celebration will also offer guests the opportunity to meet Donna Burgess and have their print personally autographed at two special artist signings. Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH will host both signing receptions on Saturday, October 13 and October 27 from 1 - 4 p.m. Silver Sands’ Autumn Tides Month celebration is a part of Autumn Tides, a series of unforgettable fall festivals sponsored by the Beaches of South Walton Tourist Development Council.
